This was mainly the product of Lord Tweedmouth's Kennels in the latter part of the 19th century. Flat Coated Retrievers, Irish Setters and a variety of Spaniel all helped to make the Golden Retriever. It is a willing and intelligent dog, and very attractive to look at. Though its numbers have declined in the field it has become quite popular in the show ring. All shades of Gold and Cream are accepted but not red. | |
