Trainers steal limelight at dog show
The junior trainers stole the show by displaying astounding feats of their dogs at the 95th Championship Dog Show in the city.Rishika Narasimhamurthy, a Class XI student, and the Golden Retriever trained by her bagged the first prize in the junior category.Rishika told Express that she has been interested in training dogs since her childhood.“My mother is a trainer in Golden Retriever’s club and I also started developing the interest,” she noted. Rishika has trained eight Golden Retrievers and this is the fourth award she has won in two years since she started training.Organised by the Madras Canine Club, the show saw around 400 dogs of about 50 different breeds participating and displaying their obedience and skills. The dogs were classified into 12 categories depending on their age and gender.
